Timeline of events related to Abraham Lincoln and rights of people in America:
Rights and privileges changed in America since they were given to more people. Slavery was outlawed and people of color were made citizens due to the 13th and 14th amendments at the end of the Civil War. This shows a change in who has rights since before then people of color were treated as property and were not protected under the constitution. After the amendments were passed a large percentage of America’s population could now enjoy the country’s freedoms.
